Seed Quality

About Our Seeds

What goes into the ground matters. Here's what goes into ours.

Are your seeds American grown? +

Every seed we sell comes from a family-owned American farm with over 25 years of growing experience. No overseas imports, no mystery suppliers, no GMOs — ever. Our growers have signed the Safe Seed Pledge, guaranteeing they never knowingly buy or sell genetically engineered seeds. Grown here, packed here, scattered here.

Are the seeds neonicotinoid-free? +

Nearly all of our wildflowers are native to North America — they belong here. Our seeds are completely free of neonicotinoids, the pesticides linked to pollinator decline. No chemical coatings, no fungicides, no post-harvest treatments. Just clean seeds that support local bees, butterflies, and ecosystems the way nature intended.

Are the seeds non-invasive? +

We researched every single flower in our packs — none of them are invasive. Our seeds are sourced from a USDA Certified Organic farm, inspected annually and held to the highest organic standards. No chemical fertilizers, no herbicides, no pesticides. Scatter them on your own property or anywhere you have permission to plant — they'll grow without taking over or harming what's already there.

Seed Pack Details

The Packs

What's inside each pack? +

Each pack contains a hand-selected wildflower seed blend matched to its cause — chosen for its colors, symbolism, and ability to support pollinators. Every pack is hand-filled by Alan & Alli personally.

How many seeds are in each pack? +

Each pack contains a premium blend of hand-measured wildflower seeds — enough to fill a garden bed, a fence line, or a meaningful corner of your yard. Because our seeds are high-germination and open-pollinated, a little goes a long way.

Will the seeds grow anywhere? +

Wildflowers are incredibly resilient. They grow in backyards, on balconies, along fence lines, and in garden patches. No green thumb required — just scatter and let nature do its thing. For best results, scatter in a spot that gets some sunlight and give them a little water if rain isn't in the forecast.

When is the best time to scatter? +

Spring and fall are ideal scattering seasons in most regions. That said, wildflowers are tough — scatter whenever feels right and meaningful to you.

Can I scatter indoors or in a pot? +

Absolutely! A pot or planter works great, especially for balconies or small spaces. Use well-draining soil, scatter your seeds on top, press them lightly in, and water gently.

Impact & Giving

The Causes & Donations

How does the donation work? +

A portion of every sale is donated to the cause tied to your pack. Every donation percentage is connected to a real statistic — nothing is arbitrary. We believe in transparency and real impact.

Which causes do you support? +

Right now we support veteran mental health, breast cancer awareness, leukemia and blood cancer research, childhood cancer awareness, and autism awareness. More causes are coming — stay tuned.

How do I know which pack is right for me? +

Take our 60-second quiz at thescatterproject.com and we'll match you to your cause. Or follow your heart — every pack makes a difference.

Environmental Responsibility

Scattering Responsibly

Are there rules about where I can scatter? +

Yes — and we take this seriously. Always check local regulations before scattering on public land, in parks, or near waterways. Private property always requires permission. When in doubt, scatter on your own property or somewhere you have explicit permission.

Are the seeds safe for pollinators? +

Absolutely. Supporting pollinators is core to our mission — and our seeds are specifically chosen to back that up. nearly all native to North America, neonicotinoid-free, and non-invasive. Bees and butterflies pollinate 1 in 3 bites of food we eat, and wildflowers are one of the best ways to restore their habitats.

We're real people and we read every message. Reach out and we'll get back to you within 1-2 business days.
